Queensland’s biomedical, personalised and preventative healthcare industry

Queensland is a leader in infectious disease research and vaccine development. It is home to six world-class health and biomedical precincts, a network of world-leading pharmaceutical companies, medical research and translation institutes, clinical trial facilities and medical technology startups with capabilities in cancer immunotherapy, biomarker and target discovery, human genetics, tropical medicine, biopharmaceutical manufacturing and clinical trials.

Our researchers are pioneering the development of 3D printing to generate replacement tissues and organs, customised for individual patients. Queensland’s world-leading genomics research includes some of the largest genomic diagnostic service programs in Australasia. Its access to a unique tropical biodiversity and dedicated infrastructure gives it a competitive advantage in the tropical health field.
