Australian Centre for Pacific Islands Research (ACPIR)

University of the Sunshine Coast

The ACPIR is the only research centre in an Australian university with an exclusive focus on the Pacific Islands region and the challenges that its peoples face in a rapidly-changing world. The interests of the ACPIR are intentionally unconstrained, allowing its members to conduct research on a range of topics. In the modern world, where so many challenges can only be answered by specialists in different areas, this interdisciplinary approach is key - and is at the core of the research agenda of the ACPIR.
