The Centre's research focus is centred on tropical ecosystems, conservation and climate change; industries and economies in the tropics; and people and societies in the tropics. It provides businesses, governments, and partner universities expertise and knowledge across a range of research clusters, including corporate social responsibility, circular economy, sustainable tourism, sustainable tropical urban planning and design and smart cities, waste management, trade negotiations and non-tariff barrier analysis, and economic modelling. The Centre is located at JCU Singapore and Cairns with research teams in Brisbane and Townsville.
