GeneCology Research Centre (GeneCology)
University of the Sunshine Coast

The Centre operates in the research areas of genetics, ecology and physiology of plants, animals and micro-organisms, in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. We combine molecular and multi-disciplinary approaches to understand and improve biological processes, and use cutting edge techniques to answer both theoretical and applied science research questions. The major themes are aquaculture, chemical communication, tree and forest science, molecular engineering, animal health, plant ecology, and environmental microbiology. Our key values are to conduct research that has a broad impact on society and we are actively engaged with major industries through our ongoing partnerships in aquaculture, agriculture, horticulture, ecological services, water quality, bio-technology and bio-discovery.
