National Biologics Facility - Queensland Node (NBF)
Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology
The focus of the National Biologics Facility is production of high-quality recombinant proteins in pre-clinical or clinical quantities. The NBF specialises in use of mammalian cell expression technology for proteins with potential therapeutic or commercial uses. Established in 2007, the facility assists Australian biotechnology companies and academic researchers to bridge the gap between laboratory experiments and the well-characterised cell line and bioprocesses required to produce material at the pilot scale. The NBF has a proven track record in mammalian cell line development and recombinant protein expression and purification at the Queensland node. The facility offers protein production services from research to pilot scale (0.1-100L) and has dedicated protein purification suites capable of isolating milligrams to grams of protein. In addition, the NBF offers specialist cell line services for the development and optimisation of transient and stable protein expression systems. .
