Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q)

The Centre is one of the leading multi-disciplinary research institutions of its type in the world dedicated to research, education to reduce road trauma. CARRS-Q operates in long-term partnerships with government, industry, international agencies, community and universities with an explicit commitment to work closely with government and give priority to developing research to inform policy directions in injury prevention and safety. The Centre's key research domains include: regulation and enforcement; intelligent transport systems and road safety infrastructure; school and community injury prevention; vulnerable road users; and occupational safety. For over 25 years, CARRS-Q has informed the development of road safety countermeasures and policies to keep the community safe on the road, investigating all aspects of road safety, from the safe introduction of automated vehicles, to the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.
